Preparing the AXIS 82/83 developer board for serial flashing

To use the EtraxFlasher utility with your developer board you have to configure the developer board to boot from serial line. This can be done safely by soldering a jumper switch on the board itself.

Look at the AXIS 82 schematics on page 7 (bottom left part). X3 must be soldered on the board - it is just beneath the BOOT switch. When you have done that you can boot the ETRAX in serial boot mode closing the connection betwen pin 2 and 3 (the middle and the one looking outwards).

NOTE: The ETRAX processor will be in serial boot mode each time these pins are connected while you power up the device. To restore the normal mode, just remove the connection.

You don't need the normal BOOT button for serial flashing!
